30/7: Colour marks on colour paper/’Drawings’ page updated with Life drawings

Colour pencil sketches on Daler Rowney colour card

160 g/m2 (the weight of the card in grams per square meter)

I’m using willow leaves and sweet chestnut bark as motifs – both creating an entirely different sense of movement.

The bark seems to rush across the paper, whereas the leaves drift upwards and downwards much more gracefully.

I’m aiming to be much more looser with my marks and get away from details. My next set of drawings will be based on the prints hanging up here on my shelves.

I’ve also updated the ‘DRAWINGS’ page with a couple of Life drawings I drew at college. Click on the tab at the top of the Blog. Please feel free to add a comment on this or any previous post. Web page coming soon…..
